About Stowe

The Town

Stowe is both a picturesque Vermont village, complete with a church steeple and covered bridges, and an internationally renowned winter resort for skiiers, snowboarders, and other cold-weather adventurers. The downtown area, known as the village, as well as the Mountain Road, which leads to Mount Mansfield, is filled with quaint artisan shops and world-class restaurants. With Waterbury's Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Cabot Cheese Annex Store, and Ben & Jerry's Factory Store nearby, the area offers something for everyone.

The Mountain

Vermont's highest peak, Mt. Mansfield offers a wide variety of terrain for all levels of experience. Although best known for its "Front Four" trails, which happen to make up some of the most challenging skiing in the Northeast, it also offers some great intermediate trails, as well as beginner trails in the Toll House area. Its little sister mountain, Spruce Peak, is geared toward beginner and intermediate skiers and riders.

Stowe Mountain Resort offers discounted lift tickets on their website for advanced sales (internet only). For more information, visit http://www.stowe.com.
